The pandemic truly hit our Seniors hard! We did what we could to help. As the county, and the Phoenixville Area reopens, our local Seniors want to be able to resume their activities at the Phoenixville Area Senior Center, but we need your help.

The Senior Center’s HVAC system is old and cannot accommodate the HEPA filters which clean the air or pump in the fresh air that the CDC recommends. Our windows are also inoperable and do not have screens, prohibiting us from bringing in fresh air. During the shut-down we were blessed with additional equipment to distribute food via drive thru, but now we need to be able to refresh our kitchen to accommodate it. Won’t you help?

Our first priority is the windows. A donation of $1,000 will buy a window, $500 for ½ of a window or, $250 for ¼ of a window. You will be acknowledged on a plate on the windowsill. We are looking for grants to upgrade the HVAC system, but having donations toward that upgrade will help us get a grant. Finally, if you enjoy the breakfasts and lunch that Sally serves, please consider helping her by providing funding for a more efficient kitchen.

The Senior Center has always been a “Home away from Home” for many in our communities. You can help to provide that “Special Place” to enjoy retirement, get information, eat healthy meals, and “meet friends who become family” as one of our participants told me.
